osedale Ranch will welcome home Bakersfield’s growing families and active seniors to a community shaped by the newest planning principles and technologies yet infused with old-fashioned, small town appeal.
As Bakersfield’s burgeoning population has steadily pushed new development to the Ranch’s boundaries. Rosedale Ranch LP partners Keith Gardiner and Jeff Townsend recognized an opportunity to meet the new housing demand in a responsible way that respects the heritage of the land that has been part of the Gardiner family for decades.
“We don’t want to build isolated subdivisions surrounded by long block walls.”
The size of their 1,655-acre site allowed the partners to create a comprehensive plan that will integrate approximately 6,500 new homes into a vibrant community setting with its own town center, schools, community services and recreational facilities. A major regional employment center and the town center are expected to generate approximately 13,000 jobs.
“We want to create a community where people can live, work, shop and play.”
Anchored by the property’s centuries-old heritage palm trees, the design of the community keeps neighborhoods in close proximity to shopping, recreation, schools and jobs. A Great Park network of paseos links the community together and a centrally located lake and Beach Club serve as a social and recreational hub for residents.
“We want a community where people can walk to the store, to the park or to their jobs.”
Planned for a 15-year phased development, partners Gardiner and Townsend envision a new community that reflects the very best of Bakersfield – a great place to raise a family in a small town atmosphere where people remain connected to their roots.
